Miasmal/Self Titled/Dark Descent Records/2011 CD Review

Miasmal are a band from Sweden that mixes classic style Swedish death metal with crustcore and this is a review of their self titled album which was released by Dark Descent Records.

Drums range from slow, midpaced to fast drumming with good amount of blast beats, while th bass playing sounds very poweful and dark and is easy to actually hear at times, as for the synths when they are utilized briefly they add another dark dimension to the music.

Rhythm guitars range from slow, midpaced to fast riffs that combine classic death metal and crustcore together, while the lead guitars are very chaotic sounding guitar solos, as for the acoustic guitars when they are utilized briefly they use alot of finger picking to create a darker sound.

Vocals are mostly deep death metal growls with some high pitched screams, while the lyrics cover very dark themes, as for te production it has a very heavy dark and raw feel to it with all of the musical instruments having a very brutal sound.

In my opinion Miasmal are a very good classic sounding Swedish death metal band with a crustcore edge, and if you are a fan of this style, you should check out this band. RECEMMONDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Mesmerized" "We Will Live" "Death Mask" and "Creation Of Fire". RECEMMONDED BUY.
